I purchased these to replace some Sony units. Purchased a second set for my wife shortly thereafter. The sound quality and range was noticeably improved over the Sonys. I was even able to lower the MP3 volume setting down a couple of notches and still enjoy better listening quality than before. Durability has been good so far, but it is too early to make that call at this point. Highly recommended.
New pair works very well. My first pair developed some crackling noise in the right speaker. Overall very good ear buds. Excellent clarity. Emailed the seller. They sent me a brand new pair with and envelope with return postage. Good sounding base. Very pleased with the product and the service of the seller.
Regrettably both girls were only able to enjoy their Sound-Squared earbuds for about 2 months before the "buds broke off the stem" and the wires broke. I bought two sets of the Sound-Squared "GMS-104" Sport earbuds for my daughters (14 and 16) for Christmas. Both girls loved the quality of the sound; the clarity of the music whether modern or classical was excellent. The earbuds were not subjected to anything more stressful than ordinary daily commutes to and from school and other events. Wonderful sound but not made for the long haul.
The wires are a bit thin that can tangle easily and the included earbud cushions are a little difficult to replace (put on). Sound clarity is distinctive with a decent bass response. These are very comfortable earbuds with a nice clear sound. I found that using a toothpick and very carefully circling the earbud speaker while installing the cushion works well. If you're looking for a wider Hz range with more bass and clarity, of course you'll have to pay for it. For the price, these are a very good pair of earbuds that feel comfortable and sound good. Although I paid full price around 20 dollars, I would watch for likely sales on these earbuds. Overall, in my opinion, 4 stars for good product, save 5 stars for lacking "outstanding" sound, minor quality deficiencies, and price/value ratio.
These earbuds did have very good sound and fit securely in the ears, but the construction is extremely fragile with very flimsy fine wires that get easily tangled. I purchased the Sound Squared GMS 104 Sport Earbuds about a month and a half ago while seeking affordable earbuds with decent sound, (as good or better than the Apple buds) that actually fit and stay in my ears, especially while doing exercise or activity, as the buds that came with my iPod are always falling out. After not much use and never any abuse, I'm disappointed to report the wires are starting to fail as I'm now getting a lot of static and broken up sound. I previously purchased the iLuv buds that hook over the ears but the fit was not right and I felt their sound was poor quality. So after reading numerous positive reviews for the SS GMS 104s I decided to give them a try. I expected something designed for sport use to be much sturdier and last much longer than only 6 weeks. So for sound quality I rate them 4 stars, price = 5, fit = 4, but for construction and durability I give them only one star. Overall rating, about 3 stars.
